Clocks were chosen as the base functionality because of the international value of time. Every moment of every person’s life revolves around time. Unlike many applications that are used only periodically, clocks offer unlimited exposure, literally “claiming” the Windows Desktop.
PromoClocks personalize the desktop
PromoClocks are fun and entertaining, personalizing the users’ desktop with your images, animations and sounds. While every computer has its own built-in clock, PromoClock is much more than just a standard clock. PromoClock contains all the following functionality and more:

How do users feel about the pop up advertisements?
The advantage of PromoClocks over other forms of pop up advertising (including adware) is that you develop a relationship with your users by including pop up ads that are relevant to their needs. PromoClock protects users’ privacy
PromoClock is against invading users’ privacy. Invading users’ privacy includes downloading or installing without their knowledge, collecting users’ data without their knowledge, and/or transferring any information between server and users’ computer without their knowledge.
Our applications are built to avoid such invasion of user privacy in order to protect our reputation and the reputation of our clients. Computer users are very fearful of applications that download without their permission.
Clients want to build a trusting relationship with their PromoClock users — therefore we do all we can to ensure that users’ privacy is protected.

What types of pop up ad solutions does PromoClock provide?
Since PromoClock does not endorse adware or spyware, we offer 2 solutions.

Solution 1 — Preloaded ads
Preloaded ads are ads that are preloaded into your PromoClock before users download the application. This is the safest type of ads for the end-user since there is absolutely no communication between your server and the end-user’s computer.
Although it might seem like a limitation to have to load all ads before user download, there are a few ways to deal with this:
  • Plan out campaigns a few weeks or months in advance — the same way traditional advertising is done. (Traditional companies are used to having to plan out campaigns months in advance, so they do not see preloaded ads as a major drawback).
  • Send “teaser ads” through PromoClock that display a short preview or «teaser» of advertisement. Each teaser ad links to webpage, which has full up-to-date ad information.
  • Use promotions that don’t change such as ongoing sales, holiday greetings, best-selling products, etc.
  • Distribute new versions of PromoClocks every few months that contain new animations and useful materials as well as updated ad content.

Solution 2 — Constantly updateable ads
This solution allows you to send constantly updateable alarms through your PromoClock through using a technology that does not actually load the ad without users’ permission.

Our solution
Instead of downloading ad without users’ consent, a small button, icon or text message appears on the PromoClock informing users that there is new content. User then clicks on the button to accept the content at which point the new ad content is downloaded. (Alternatively, button can just link to webpage that contains new content.)

Advantages
  • Our updateable ad solution builds trust since using pull rather than push technology. The end user decides to download the new ad instead of being forced to.
  • Standard adware picks up ads regardless of whether or not the user is will actually view them. With PromoClock, user picks up ads only when (s)he is ready for them, you are guaranteed that your ads will be noticed.

Disclaimers
PromoClock updateable ads require clients to be responsible and considerate. In order to supply this functionality we require that clients agree to the following:
  • Must give us company background to ensure that they are a legitimate company
  • Must sign disclaimer agreeing to use this functionality responsibly
  • Must include disclaimer on download page explaining users exactly what they are downloading
  • Must agree that PromoClock is not responsible for the materials sent out and must include this in their disclaimer

Using PromoClocks instead of email
  • Encouraging sign up — There are so many email mailing lists to sign up for that very few sign up nowadays. PromoClock is a unique free gift which users are enticed to download. Many users are afraid to give over their email address, but PromoClock can be downloaded without handing over any contact information. Users download your PromoClock and then keep in touch with you on a general basis.

Clients can also request that we build new applications. We have vast experience in building promotional desktop applications and are usually able to build new applications at a relatively low price because of the nature of our programming design. We can build applications built on the alarm clock functionality or build new, unrelated applications.

Explain the difference between basic PromoClock functionality and Custom functionality
Basic functionality:
Basic functionality is functionality that is available in all PromoClock models — including our 80 readymade models (see our catalog) and custom models.
The basic functionality includes:
  • Website links
  • Banner ads
  • Text ads
  • Preloaded pop up ads (text, image or HTML)
  • Your own icons
  • Custom installation screen image & Welcoming message
Note: Basic functionality of links, banner ads & text ads includes those located in standard locations with standard options.

Custom functionality:
Custom functionality is functionality that is only available in certain custom clock models.
Examples of these include:
  • Additional website links (additional location of links, multiple links through clickable zones, etc.)
  • Additional banner ads (additional locations, custom sizes & options…)
  • Additional text ads
  • Additional clock menu options
  • Updateable pop up ads (text, image, or website pop ups)
  • Installation of other applications along with PromoClock (such as multimedia presentations, product catalogs, desktop game, etc.)
  • and much more
